Pre-certification, Notification and Prior Authorizations for 2012

January 23, 2012 – With the many changes in CPT codes for 2012, please be aware of new codes that will be added to insurance carriers’ Advanced Imaging Notification and Prior Authorization and Pre-certification lists.  Many of the new codes replaced the deleted 2011 codes on those lists  or they may be totally new codes. Insurance carriers should have notified contracted providers of the additions of the new 2012 codes and removal of the deleted 2011 codes.
