Four More States launch Medicaid EHR Incentive Program
August 4, 2011 – On July 4th, the Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program was launched in Arizona, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and West Virginia. This means that eligible professionals and eligible hospitals in these four states will be able to complete their EHR Incentive Program registration at the state level and receive incentive payments.
Â
So far, twenty-one (21) states have launched Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs, and fourteen (14) states have issued incentive payments to Medicaid eligible professionals and eligible hospitals who have adopted, implemented, or upgraded certified EHR technology.
Â
In order to participate in the Medicaid EHR program, at least 30% of a provider’s practice must consist of Medicaid patients. Participating in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program is an alternative to participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program.
