CMS Releases ACO & Shared Savings Regulations
April 20, 2011 – On March, 31, 2011, CMS passed a proposed rule (Section 3022 of the Affordable Care Act) to establish the CMS definitions of an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and the Shared Savings Program.Â
Comments on this proposed rule will be accepted until June 6, 2011, with the final rule adopted shortly after. The ACO program is scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2012. We will be sending you more information on these programs in the near future, but until then, please click below for information on CMS’ website.
